Xiamen Bureau of Commerce greets seniors and local poor
Officials from the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce recently visited and extended their regards to two elderly people in Zengcuo village, Neicuo town, Xiang'an district.
The pair, both in their 80s and extremely poor, regularly receive aid from the bureau. This time, each of them got an allowance of 3,000 yuan ($487).
Since 2012, the bureau’s officials have visited the pair three times, offering 18,000 yuan total in financial assistance.
The bureau has also been helping a poor university student in the village with a monthly subsidy of 200 yuan.

In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
