CIFIT official urges better preparation
More preparation work for the 18th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) needs to be done, according to Zheng Xiaosong, deputy Fujian governor on Aug 13.
Zheng, who is secretary general of CIFIT's organizing committe, made the remark during an inspection of the venues for some major events of the fair, which will be held Sept 8-11 in Xiamen.
He also set six priorities for the preparation of CIFIT in the next phase after the inspection.
First, improve and perfect CIFIT in its finer details to make it a better fair which satisfies both old and new participants.
Second, ensure safety and focus on eight areas, including medical care, food, accommodation, traffic, and good manners.
Third, provide specific services to key travelling merchants and groups.
Fourth, detail the CIFIT schedule and prepare publicity in advance.
Fifth, promote CIFIT in the media by providing information to them, making use of the CCTV platform and highlighting the foreign media’s reports in Fujian.
Sixth, avoid waste and luxury in receptions, decorations and service to ensure a thrifty fair.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
