Gansu province signs 5 billion yuan of contracts at CIFIT
According to the Commerce Department of Gansu province, Lanzhou, Longnan and three other cities in Gansu signed 10 cooperation contracts, worth around 5 billion yuan($820 million) at the 18th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), which kicked off at Xiamen city, Fujian province, on Sept 8.
Among those successful contracts, two were signed with Gansu Pinliang city, worth 1.42 billion yuan; one Lanzhou investment project attracted 2.2 billion yuan and three contracts were signed with Longnan city at 1 billion yuan.
Gansu sent a delegation of 180 people, representing several local cities, areas, and companies to CIFIT and the delegation has prepared 184 project proposals for investment in Gansu.
Up until Sept 9, there were 73 companies from Fujian and other provinces showed interest in Gansu’s projects, such as Fujian Microwater Environmental Protection Technology Co.
Lanzhou New Area also signed an agreement with Xiamen Utrans Supply Chain Management Co. on the joint constructing and development of Lanzhou New Area’s comprehensive free zone.
CIFIT provides a great number of opportunities for Gansu province to attract more investments and make full use of its local resources.

Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
