Fujian's rural sites honored
Six villages in Fujian province made it onto the list of the Most Beautiful Chinese Villages for Leisure, recently released by the Ministry of Agriculture.
They are Guanshan village in Nan’an city, Dingcun village and Xiaodeng village in Xiamen city, Houfang village in Changtai county, Kongyuan village in Minhou county and Tangxi village in Fu’an city.
Another six landscapes in Fujian were nominated for the list of Beautiful Pastoral Landscapes in China, namely the paddy field and pear blossom in Dehua county, terrace field in Yongding county, vineyard in Longyan city, tea garden in Wuyishan city and lotus blossom in Gongqiao town of Zhangping city.
The villages and landscapes were honored for their unique folk cultures, tidy environment and profound agricultural histories, said the Fujian Tourism Bureau.

Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
