4 billionaires from Xiamen make Forbes China Rich List 2014
According to the 2014 China Billionaires list released by Forbes on October 28, 4 billionaires from Xiamen made the list, down 2 people compared with last year. Ke Xiping from the Xiamen Hengxing Group became the richest in Xiamen with a fortune of RMB 8.16 billion, ranking 50th on the list. The second richest person in Xiamen was Lin Xiucheng from the Fujian San’an Group, ranking 97th on the list with a fortune of RMB 9.91 billion.
A total of 18 billionaires from Fujian province made the list, down 3 people compared with last year. Chen Fashu from the Newhuadu Group and Shi Wenbo from the Heng’an Group tied for first place of Fujian’s billionaires that made the list, with each holding personal wealth of RMB 15.3 billion, ranking 47th on the overall list.
Topping this year's list is Ma Yun, the chairman of Alibaba, with a net worth of $19.5 billion, compared with $7.1 billion last year. Ma knocked off last year's richest man, Wang Jianlin, who ranked 4th on the list this year. Li Yanhong from Baidu came in second with $14.7 billion and Ma Huateng from QQ ranked 3rd with $14.4 billion.
It is notable that the top 3 richest people on the list this year were all from the Internet services industry.
