Xiamen to strengthen cooperation with Czech Republic
Xiamen’s vice mayor, Zhang Canmin, welcomed Mr. Jiri Rozboril, the Governor of the Olomouc Region in the Czech Republic, and those accompanying him on the evening of December 5.
The Fujian government and the Olomouc government signed an agreement of intention to cooperate in setting up friendly relations with each other this August. Mr. Jiri Rozboril’s recent visit this time showed his willingness to cooperate with Fujian and Xiamen in the near future.
During their meeting, Zhang welcomed the guests and introduced the recent development of Xiamen’s economy and society. According to his introduction, the average trade volume between Xiamen and the Czech Republic has reached nearly $100 million every year, and except for the current cooperation in machinery products, their cooperation areas could also be extended to nano-techonology and optical technology in the near future. He also suggested very passionately that Mr. Rozboril should see more of Xiamen to learn more about the city, which could greatly enhance the relationship between the 2 cities.
Mr. Rozboril expressed his appreciation of Xiamen’s beautiful views and his confidence of further cooperation between Xiamen and Czech Republic.
