Special equipment to be checked online
The Xiamen Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (XMSEII) piloted an online service for special equipment inspection within the Xiamen Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in early August.
The new system allows inspection applications to be completed within several minutes and for a test report to be produced within 10 days.
Enterprises installed with special equipment can track inspection proceedings online and download or print inspection reports from the Xiamen Special Equipment Inspection Institute website.
A total of 60,000 units of special equipment have been installed in factories, office buildings and residential communities across Xiamen. Among them are 4,000 boilers, elevators and cranes, currently in service at docks, power plants and other industrial facilities within the FTZ, according to Zou Zhijian, the assistant to president of the XMSEII.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
