Liquor business booms —September tally
From January to September 2015 Xiamen saw a 90 percent annual growth in the import of alcohol.
The import of alcohol in the first nine months of 2015 reached $137 million. It was the first time alcohol import in Xiamen exceeded $100 million.
Thanks to the market's growing appetite for beer products, those products represented the biggest portion of alcohol import in that time period, totaling $84.7 million. The growth translated into a 254 percent increase year on year.
During the period, Xiamen imported assorted alcohol products from a total of 36 countries and regions. The sources of alcohol import diversified, with import from the Netherlands, France and Spain exceeding $10 million.

In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
