More than 2,000 exhibitors from 57 countries and regions attended the 19th China (Xiamen) International Stone Fair held at Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center from March 6 to 9, local media reported.
Statistics from the organizers show that more than 13.1 percent of the exhibitors are newcomers, and they are expected to bring more highlights to the fair.
With an exhibition area of 180,000 square meters, the stone fair claims to be the largest one of its kind in the world and contains six major exhibition areas for domestic stones, international stones, mechanical devices, new products and creative designs.
Three major events, product design exhibition, world stone conference and new product release, are held during the four-day stone fair.
Among them, the product design exhibition was the most anticipated event, where 23 stone companies from China, Brazil, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Singapore and the United States bring their most creative designs to break people's stereotypes of stones.
Nearly 50 new products of 38 domestic and overseas companies make their debut at the fair, including mines, materials, technologies and machines.

As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
