Xiamen Software Park in Xiamen, Fujian province has ranked ninth among the top 10 big data industry parks in China, according to a list recently released by Qianzhan, a nationally renowned research institute.

The big data industry is one of the key industries for Xiamen Software Park. In recent years, the software park has also focused on cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other emerging industries.

In 2018 emerging industries in the Xiamen Software Park took a lion's share of its operation revenue, reaching 9.5 billion yuan.

Based on the regional development potential for the big data industry, the industry park's development strength, and growth opportunity for companies in the park, Qianzhan calculated the competitiveness index for 109 Chinese industry parks.

Analysis from Qianzhan indicates that the big data industry in China enjoys promising prospects, especially in Guizhou, Guangdong, Fujian and Zhejiang provinces.

By 2020, the scale of the big data industry in China is expected to exceed 500 billion yuan ($74.57 billion) and finance, health care, city and internet security are the application fields for big data technologies.

Rounding out the top 3 in Qianzhan's survey of China's most competitive big data industry parks are Zhongguangcun Big Data Industry Park in Beijing, Guian Comprehensive Bonded Zone (Electronic Information Industry Park) in Guizhou province and Hi-Tech Service Industry Park in Shanghai.
