CIFIT to stress BRI countries' cooperation

The 2019 China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) will take place in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, from Sept 8 to 9.
According to a news conference held in Shanghai recently, from this year in a bid to promote investment and cooperation, a special pavilion for investment promotion agencies of countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) will be set up to promote their investment environment and projects.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee of CIFIT will cooperate with China Institute of Communications to demonstrate the achievements of BRI countries in 5G equipment, communication network equipment, information security and other aspects.
Additionally, this year's fair also includes a BRI agricultural products e-commerce trading conference and a Silk Road tea culture expo.
CIFIT, approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China, takes place every September in Xiamen. It is currently China's only international investment promotion event aimed at facilitating bilateral investment.

As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
