Xiamen ranks 3rd nationwide in stabilizing industrial growth in 2020

Xiamen in East China's Fujian province ranked third nationwide in maintaining steady industrial growth and promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, according to a local news report on April 15.

The list was released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Xiamen is the only city in Fujian to make the list.

The top 10 cities are industrial powerhouses in China, and all of them made efforts to increase input into the industrial sector and promote the development of industrial internet.

Xiamen has cultivated four leading industrial chains worth more than 100 billion yuan ($15.29 billion): panel displays, computer and communication equipment, software and information services, and mechanized equipment. Statistics show that in 2020, the total output of industrial enterprises in Xiamen above designated size grew by 3.1 percent year-on-year to 733.66 billion yuan.

In recent years, the city has continued to foster pillar industries and a number of industrial chains and clusters such as semiconductors and integrated circuits, panel displays, machinery equipment, computer and communication equipment, and biomedicine, aiming to accelerate the intensive development of industries and develop new growth drivers for the city's high-quality development.
