The coastal city of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province reported stable intellectual property development in 2020, with its number of valid invention patents ranking second in the province, according to news released at a news conference held on April 20.
A total of 40,358 invention patent applications were filed in Xiamen in 2020, increasing by 16.55 percent year-on-year, and 29,598 invention patents were authorized, up 28.61 percent year-on-year.
The number of valid invention patents expanded by 19.24 percent year-on-year to 16,271 by the end of 2020, ranking second in the province, and the number of overall invention patents per 10,000 people in Xiamen reached 37.93 last year.
The number of trademark registration applications was 123,348 in 2020, while the number of valid trademarks had reached nearly 400,000 by the end of last year.
