Statistics showed that in the first half of this year, the exports of Xiamen's plumbing, sanitary, and kitchenware industry reached 13.83 billion yuan ($2.14 billion), up 27.7 percent year-on-year.

The sanitary ware industry is a model for the transformation and upgrading of Xiamen's traditional industries, with its products popular across the world. Xiamen's sanitary ware companies are also poplar overseas.

In recent years, the Xiamen municipal bureau of commerce has made efforts to promote brand building, integrate the development of domestic and foreign trade, and expand overseas markets in order to create a developmental environment for foreign trade companies to transform and upgrade.

Benefitting from the country's effective COVID-19 control and prevention measures, some overseas orders of sanitary ware products have been transferred to China from India and countries in East Asia.

Under the country's dual-circulation development pattern, which takes the domestic market as the mainstay, while letting the domestic and foreign markets reinforce each other, the overseas business of many sanitary ware companies in Xiamen has grown steadily.

For instance, Runner Group's sanitary ware has generated 1.81 billion yuan in income in overseas markets, up 39.89 percent year-on-year and accounting for 79.28 percent of the company's main business income.

Solex Group has rapidly expanded its overseas markets this year with a number of new products that integrate high-value technologies, such as ozone water sterilaztion, electrolytic water sterilization, automatic induction, and other contactless technologies.

R&T Plumbing Technology Co has exported water tank accessories, smart toilet covers, and other products to more than 60 countries around the world.
