A total of 485 Xiamen companies formed the Xiamen trade group that is attending the online component of the 130th session of the China Import and Export Fair.
The companies are involved in a variety of sectors spanning clothing, pet supplies, home appliances, auto parts, and food.
Xiamen companies have done various preparations, such as preparing 3D products, building virtual-reality exhibition booths, planning livestreaming sales, and shooting promotional videos, to better showcase themselves and their products at the fair.
For instance, the health service product manufacturer Ogawa plans to showcase 85 products online at the fair, including its AI massage robot. The company has prepared detailed introductions about the functions of every product and will hold livestreaming events for its popular products from Oct 15 to Oct 19.
In terms of livestreaming sales, Xiamen companies will arrange livestreaming schedules for customers in different regions. They will also have hosts to introduce each product via livestreaming to attract customers.
The China Import and Export Fair, which is also known as the Canton Fair, has been contributing to the development of Xiamen's foreign trade as one of the most important channels for Xiamen companies to enter international markets, said a manager of the Xiamen trade group.
In addition, this year's online attendance will promote the digitization of brands. A website called Amoy Brand has been launched to support Xiamen companies explore overseas markets.
Why Xiamen

As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
