Xiamen to seek investment, matchmaking at CIIE
Statistics showed that by the end of October, 287 companies with 1,288 people from Xiamen, Fujian province have applied to attend the fourth China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is held from Nov 5 to Nov 10 in Shanghai.
The attendees will participate in various activities such as exhibitions, purchase docking, investment promotion and forums, focusing on fields like medical devices, smart equipment, food, and agricultural produce.
This year's CIIE has gathered many multinational companies and industry leading companies, which is a platform for the Xiamen trading delegation to attract investment.
For instance, the trading delegation will carry out precise procurement at the CIIE with companies like Schneider Electric, Philips, and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Via CIIE's platform, Xiamen aims to boost the import of goods through precise procurement in order to promote the upgrading of local consumption and industries, which is speeding up, said Ke Biru, deputy director of the municipal bureau of commerce.
The municipal bureau of commerce, districts, and development zones in Xiamen will also form investment teams to carry out precise matchmaking with other CIIE exhibitors as well as target companies in Shanghai and surrounding areas.
