The 2022 China International Fair for Investment and Trade, or 2022 CIFIT, is set to take place in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, from Sept 8 to 11, a spokesman announced on March 18 at a preparation work conference for the event.

This year's fair will continue to revolve around higher-level opening-up, improving its internationalization and professionalization, and further highlight brand building, as well as strengthen its two-way investment promotion, authoritative information release, and investment trend discussion functions, officials said.

To support the Belt and Road Initiative's implementation and facilitate international economic trade cooperation and cross-Straits exchanges, it will emphasize green, low-carbon, and digital economies.This year's exhibition area is expected to span 120,000 square meters and features an investment promotion section, an industry innovation section and a matchmaking section for projects, investors and talents.

A slew of exhibitions such as a BRICS new industrial revolution exhibition and an industrial internet exhibition are planned, with Global 500 companies, transnational corporations, industrial leaders and "little giant" companies being invited to showcase their latest products, technologies and business formats.

Nearly 20 themed forums will also be held to discuss hot topics such as the digital economy, the green chemical industry, cross-border industry investment and business environment improvement.
