Xiamen issues 2,939 RCEP certificates of origin in Jan-April
From January to April, Xiamen Customs issued 2,939 certificates of origin under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement for nearly 300 Xiamen companies since the world's largest free trade deal took effect.
The certificates were mainly issued to export products, such as inorganic acid salt, umbrellas, and aluminum products, which were worth a total of 1.48 billion yuan ($220.16 million), and are estimated to bring exporters 14-million-yuan in tariff reductions in destination countries.
Xiamen has been stepping up efforts to speed up the steps of going global with the help of the RCEP agreement.
For example, Xiamen Customs issued a RCEP certificate of origin for a batch of aluminum easy-open lids that will be exported to Myanmar on May 7.
In addition, Xiamen Port added a new shipping route to the Port of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam recently, which is its 88th shipping route to ports in countries under the RCEP agreement.
