This year's expo has attracted trading groups from nearly 40 provinces, cities and districts to carry out match-making, purchasing, and information and resource exchanges in Xiamen.
Featured exhibition areas such as the ones for BRICS countries will help Xiamen seize developmental opportunities, explore cooperation agreements and boost a higher-level of opening-up.
In addition, as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, a serial event for Japanese companies to visit Fujian is scheduled to be held during the expo.
A featured exhibition hall for Japan is also set up at this year's expo, aiming to boost communication and cooperation through economic and trade exchanges between China and Japan. Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
