Xiamen's online retail sales reach 1.38b yuan in 2022
In 2022, Xiamen's online retail sales volume reached 1.38 billion yuan (about $200 million), up 4 percent year-on-year. Among them, the sales volume of physical goods hit 1.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.2 percent, and accounted for 27.2 percent of the total volume of consumer goods.
Among all the products, the sales volume of jewelry had the highest growth rate, which was 27.3 percent, and was followed by cigarettes and liquor, which increased by 19.1 percent in 2022.
Xiamen's total sales of products to northeast China had the highest growth rate of 13.2 percent, which is 9.2 percent higher than the national average.
Last year, Xiamen sold 217 million yuan worth of agricultural products online, up 3.6 percent year-on-year. Among them, physical goods had a sales volume of 199 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.9 percent.
During the same period, Xiamen's cross-border commerce developed rapidly, with the total value reaching 211 million yuan, up 9.8 percent year-on-year, and the total volume of exports and imports reached 155 million yuan and 56 million yuan, respectively, up 11.7 percent and 4.9 percent.
Furthermore, in 2022, Xiamens e-commerce sector posted vigorous growth. There were 120 million live-streaming fairs for key e-commerce platforms, with more than 95 million products sold.
