To realize high-quality development, Tongan district in Xiamen hosted a promotional conference on Feb 3. At the conference, six projects consisting of two fund projects and four industrial park projects were inked, with a total investment of 7.26 billion yuan ($1.07 billion).

According to Wu Shichun, founder of Plum Venture, which was involved in one of the two newly signed fund projects, the company has attracted numerous high-quality start-ups since it relocated to Xiamen in 2018. With a total investment of 1 billion yuan, the company is expected to help draw about nine listed companies to do business in Tongan this year.

At the conference, representatives from the government of Tongan district detailed the advantages and potential for starting businesses in the area, and five entrepreneurs from different sectors were employed as consultants for investment promotion.

Han Yinghuan, chairman of the board of Xiamen East Asia Machinery Industrial Co, said that 23 years after starting business in Tongan, the company has benefited a lot from the the district's policies, and will continue to make contributions to the district's further development.

In recent years, as Tongan's advantageous industries such as high-end equipment manufacturing and modern agriculture have enjoyed a long-lasting boom, new industries, including new materials and new energy are accelerating their pace of development, and to underpin the development of its industries, Tongan will increase its efforts to attract investment.
