Xiamen takes steps to release consumption potential of local communities
From the beginning of 2021, Xiamen has been trying to give full play to the consumption potential of local communities and provide convenience to Xiamen residents.
Xiamen has been giving priority to the development of convenience stores. In addition to financial support, it has also released favorable policies to attract popular convenience store chains, such as 7-11 and Lawson, to open in the city and provided professional instructions for local convenience stores.
This year, Xiamen plans to hold a number of shopping festivals during the holidays and mass consumption events both online and offline, with a focus on snacks, tourism, e-commerce and home electrical appliances.
On top of that, Xiamen has been encouraging grocery stores and supermarkets to renovate and upgrade their facilities to build a more standardized, intelligent and orderly agricultural market.
Xiamen is also utilizing big data to expand its consumer market. In 2022, the city joined hands with Meituan, a Chinese on-demand service platform, to monitor the consumption conditions in local communities. Based on the big data, Xiamen strives to make more reasonable layout of businesses in local communities.
