Xiamen holds national business environment optimization conference
The National On-Site Conference on Optimizing Business Environment was held in Xiamen, Fujian province from March 30 to 31.
Zhao Chenxin, deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission, Cui Yonghui, Party secretary of Xiamen, Guo Ningning, vice-governor of Fujian, and other representatives attended the conference.
Zhao said that over the past 10 years, the country has unswervingly promoted the reform of optimizing the business environment and made a historic leap in economic strength. He encouraged governments at all levels to be the vanguards and pioneers in vitalizing the business environment, take measures according to local conditions and build a more scientific, standardized, systematic and optimized mechanism.
Zhao affirmed Fujian's efforts to combine the business environment with the construction of a digital province. The province has launched a digital monitoring and supervision mechanism for improving the business environment and formed a large number of good experiences and practices, Zhao added.
In his speech, Guo said Fujian has simplified administrative procedures to offer more convenient and efficient services and created a fair, open and business-friendly environment for enterprises. He added that the province will take this on-site meeting as an opportunity to earnestly learn from others, boost reform and innovation, and advance the digital and intelligent transformation of the business environment.
Cui said Xiamen will take reform and innovation as driving forces for development, safeguard the construction of the rule of law and promote the continuous upgrading of the business environment.
Representatives from Fujian, Zhejiang, and Hubei provinces, six of Beijing's pilot cities, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Chongqing, as well as another 25 cities also shared their experience in optimizing the business environment during the event.

In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
