Intl MICE week opens in Xiamen
The Xiamen International MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) Week is taking place from April 14 to 17. More than 1,000 industry insiders at the exhibition industry are gathering together to discuss the future of the industry and how to build Xiamen into "an international exhibition city".
This year's MICE week consists of four modules and more than 30 activities, with around 50 representatives from the government, authoritative institutions and leading enterprises in attendance.
Since the first edition took place in 2015, the event has strived to develop cross-Strait win-win cooperation. Discussions regarding young elite exchanges from the Chinese mainland and China's Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao are currently underway during this edition of MICE Week, and they are discussing their positive experiences related to the growth of the exhibition industry.
On top of that, a number of matchmaking conferences are being held, with about 400 top-notch purchasing groups seeking cooperation agreements with local suppliers.
The second edition of the Urban Exhibition Industry Chain Innovation Expo is also taking place to showcase the advantageous resources of Xiamen's exhibition industry from different dimensions and aspects.
Furthermore, the event is promoting a green and low-carbon mode of development and digitalization while providing digitalized services for attendees to use biodegradable and recyclable materials for its exhibits.

Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
