The Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone has taken a major step towards engaging with the global community by launching its new English portal – en.ftz.xm.gov.cn – on April 21.
The timing of the launch is also seen as being significant, as it coincides with the eighth anniversary of the Xiamen FTZ, located in the port city of Xiamen, in East China's Fujian province.
The portal provides the latest news and comprehensive investment information, to cater to the needs of the international community. It offers detailed insights into the general situation, investment advantages, business environment, industries, specialized industrial parks, business registration guidelines, business start-up processes and other related aspects of the Xiamen FTZ.
The zone has issued an array of initiatives to date that have boosted the high-quality development of the area.
It has carried out 521 innovative institutional reform projects over the past years of its development, 126 of them being among the first of their kind in China and 30 have been copied and promoted nationwide.
The new English portal was created by the administrative committee of the Xiamen FTZ and major national media group China Daily.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
