Huaqiao University hosts National service export base inauguration ceremony
The Huaqiao University National Language Service Export Base was formally established on April 21 during an inauguration ceremony, which was attended by representatives from Huaqiao University, Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone Management and Services institutions, and the government of Jimei district.
The event marks a significant milestone in the university's language teaching capabilities and is the result of the joint efforts made by the three participating entities.
The Huaqiao University National Language Service Export Base is one of the first national characteristic service export bases approved by the Ministry of Commerce and six other Chinese departments in March 2022. It is the only language service export base in Fujian province and one of only two university-level bases in China.
During the ceremony, plaques for the base were unveiled, and 12 strategic partners, including Phoenix Luxuries, Xiamen Unisound Intelligent Technology Co, and Shenzhen New Tranx Information Technology Co, signed agreements to collaborate on three key projects.
The ceremony marked the launch of three key projects: "Tongxin Chinese", a public service platform for smart language learning, an initiative to improve the Chinese language skills of Indonesian employees at Xiangyu Group and a preparatory program for Thai students from Phuket Wittayalai School to enhance their language capabilities before coming to China to study.
Chen Yuejin, deputy director of Xiamen municipal bureau of commerce, congratulated the establishment of the base and highlighted the importance of Huaqiao University's rich heritage in language teaching during a speech at the ceremony.
