128 Golden Dragon natural gas buses are exported to Kyrgyzstan
On July 25, Golden Dragon dispatched 28 natural gas buses from Xiamen, bound for Kyrgyzstan.
This initial shipment forms part of a larger contract, with Golden Dragon scheduled to deliver a total of 128 buses in three separate batches. The order signifies a new milestone in Golden Dragon's expansion in the Belt and Road markets. It is also Kyrgyzstan's first bus order funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Kyrgyzstan started its mass acquisition of natural gas buses in 2021. By leveraging its extensive experience in new energy buses, Golden Dragon was chosen as one of its suppliers. Following the March release of Golden Dragon's bus prototype, EBRD experts affirmed the manufacturing process and quality.
The exported 10.5-meter-long buses, which were custom-designed by Golden Dragon, are tailored to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan's capital city. The vehicles have a single-step entry and low-floor design for passenger convenience. These buses offer efficient fuel consumption and considerable horsepower, as they are capable of driving more than 400 kilometers on a single gas refill. To handle Kyrgyzstan's winter roads, which require industrial salt for melting snow, the buses have enhanced frames and special anti-corrosion body treatments.
Golden Dragon has seen a robust export growth this year and hit several record highs. It recorded an export volume that exceeded $240 million from January to June, marking a 106 percent increase year-on-year. Additionally, more than 3,600 vehicles were exported, showing a 75 percent year-on-year growth.
