Xiamen's provincial key projects deliver outstanding results

In 2023, Xiamen planned to invest 82.07 billion yuan ($11.5 billion) in 130 key provincial projects, but its actual investment reached 94.61 billion yuan, exceeding the annual investment plan by 15.3 percent.
This has laid a solid foundation for accelerating the development of a modern industrial system, improving major urban infrastructure, continuously enhancing people's well-being, and comprehensively promoting high-quality development in Xiamen.
Xiamen focused on promoting industrial transformation and upgrading around the modern industrial system. The 58 industrial projects achieved a total investment of 41.19 billion yuan for 2023, surpassing the annual planned investment by 21.7 percent.
Xiamen also prioritized urban spatial planning and comprehensive transportation planning, accelerating the construction of airports, railways, trunk roads, and urban renewal projects. The 57 infrastructure projects achieved a total investment of 50.9 billion yuan for the year, exceeding the annual planned investment by 10.5 percent.
In addition, Xiamen has focused on building regional medical centers and promoting balanced development in integrated education, addressing problems related to quality of life.
This initiative aims to promote the construction of a number of projects aimed at improving people's well-being. The 15 social welfare projects achieved a total investment of 2.52 billion yuan for the year, exceeding the annual planned investment by 17 percent.
