During the May Day holiday, the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce organized a series of themed promotional activities under the title "2024 Xiamen Consumption Festival" to stimulate consumption. 

These activities included hundreds of large-scale themed events in various commercial areas. They focused on subsidizing consumption, festive experiences, and online shopping. The goal was to create a vibrant consumer atmosphere from multiple dimensions, and these efforts have achieved good results.

At the Xiamen Shimao Strait Tower, people can not only visit traditional scenes of Minnan culture, but also experience trendsetting performances of intangible cultural heritage from Chaoshan, such as songs and dances. 

Along Zhongshan Road, a theatrical stilt performance took place, attracting a large crowd of people and injecting more vitality into the local economy. 

Meanwhile, China City offered a series of discounted activities involving dining, entertainment, shopping, and leisure. It did this through limited-time flash sales that created a bustling and exciting atmosphere.

Many new stores and flagship stores have chosen to open around the May Day holiday. Before and after May Day, more than 20 new stores have opened in major commercial areas in Xiamen.

During this holiday, Xiamen focused on exploring new consumption hotspots, and creating events such as the AB Anime Carnival, the Chasing Waves Youth Culture and Arts Festival, and the Chase Wave Youth Festival.
