Expansion of Xiamen's Japanese liaison office network makes it easier for enterprises to 'go global'

In November 2022, the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce established an overseas investment and trade service liaison office in Japan to further assist Xiamen enterprises in expanding into international markets.
The Japanese liaison office has been continuously expanding its network in Japan, reaching out to government departments, major trading companies, Chinese companies in Japan, and local Japanese enterprises.
Since its establishment, the liaison office in Japan has connected with 328 local associations and renowned enterprises and engaged in a number of friendly exchange activities with local industry associations, well-known companies and more.
Marubeni Corporation is one of the top five general trading companies in Japan. Since the establishment of the Japanese liaison office, it has facilitated more than $400 million worth of cooperative ventures between Xiamen enterprises and Marubeni.
During a visit to the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Nagoya, Consul Li Qiao said that Xiamen and Nagoya have complementary advantages in the fields of automobiles, high-end equipment, and clean energy. Consul Li looks forward to both sides strengthening industrial cooperation and seeking opportunities for collaboration.
This year, the Japanese liaison office facilitated a visit to Japan by the Xiamen Hotel Equipment and Supplies Industry Association. During this trip, Xiamen enterprises participated in the HCJ2024 in Japan to explore business opportunities.
They also conducted inspections of catering, central kitchen, and pre-fabricated food enterprises to learn about their advanced technologies, held discussions and invited Japanese companies to visit Xiamen to pursue investment opportunities.
Meanwhile, the Japanese overseas liaison office has successfully facilitated Xiamen enterprises' participation in various renowned Japanese exhibitions, including the Asia Fashion Fair, Food Convention 2023, FOOMA JAPAN 2023, and Lifestyle Week.
