To promote the high-quality development of the "Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) + Culture and Tourism" industry in Xiamen and accelerate the construction of Xiamen as an "international MICE city", the Xiamen MICE industry held a promotion symposium in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on July 16.

This symposium marked the first joint presentation of the city's cultural tourism and MICE sectors and served as a strong debut for Xiamen's MICE industry in Shenzhen.

Zhuang Rongliang, vice mayor of Xiamen, attended and delivered a speech at the event. He said that Shenzhen and Xiamen are both crucial players in China's reform and opening-up efforts and share many similarities. 

This year, Xiamen initiated the application process for branded and potential exhibitions. The top ten exhibitions selected will receive focused publicity and support in terms of investment and attracting participants. Efforts are being made to facilitate the entry and exit visa procedures for exhibition personnel, providing 24/7 visa services at airports and seaports for overseas guests attending exhibitions and conferences.

Focusing on the competitiveness of the MICE industry, Xiamen is accelerating the improvement of supporting facilities around the exhibition center and strengthening the connection and service support for major exhibition projects, continuously enhancing the business environment for the MICE industry.

During the promotional symposium, Yu Hao, deputy director of the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce and director of Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Convention and Exhibition, provided a comprehensive overview of the development concept, advantages, and service support of Xiamen's MICE industry. 

Leveraging the advantages of Shenzhen as a hub for exhibitions, the symposium opened a new chapter of cooperation and development in the MICE industry between Xiamen and Shenzhen.
