Xiamen's imports and exports remain stable in H1
In the first half of this year, Xiamen's total imports and exports were valued at 456.94 billion yuan ($62.03 billion), with exports at 233.86 billion yuan and imports at 223.08 billion yuan, indicating a relatively stable overall foreign trade situation.
Processing trade is performing well, with an increased share of total foreign trade. The total value of processing trade imports and exports reached 55.09 billion yuan, growing by 17.6 percent, and the proportion increased by 2.3 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
The vitality of foreign trade entities is strong, with private enterprises playing a prominent role as the main driving force. In the first half, there were 13,105 enterprises involved in imports and exports. Among them, private enterprises accounted for 86.8 percent, totaling 11,373 companies.
Traditional market trade has significantly improved, with trade with the United States continuing to rebound, growing by 19.6 percent.
In the first half, exports of electromechanical products reached 119.76 billion yuan, accounting for 51.2 percent of the total. The proportion of exports continued to increase. The technological content and added value of exports have significantly improved, leading to a continuous optimization of the export product structure.
Meanwhile, Xiamen's industrial production has accelerated, and consumption among residents has steadily increased, driving demand for imported production equipment, key components, and consumer goods.
Distinctive products are seeing strong momentum, and the foreign trade advantages of Xiamen continue to consolidate. In the first half, Xiamen ranked first nationwide in the import of coal, raw stone materials, and beer and the export of granite stone materials and tungsten products.
