The Signing Ceremony of Fujian Key Investment Projects was held at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center on Sept 8, during the 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT).

The signing ceremony proved a boon for Xiamen, which saw a total of 13 major investment projects signed into effect, amounting to 35.3 billion yuan ($4.96 billion) in investment. For three consecutive sessions, the total investment in Xiamen projects has grown, with the total number of projects and investment amount ranking first in the province for each of those years.

The theme of this year's fair is "Investing for an Interconnected World". Six major foreign investment projects were signed into effect during the event, covering a range of sectors from advanced manufacturing to healthcare, internet, finance, and other modern service industries.

The total investment in these projects amounts to 13.4 billion yuan, with both the number of signed projects and the total investment exceeding last year's numbers.

Many of the project agreements signed by the Xiamen delegation have a focus on third-generation semiconductors, new energy, and other strategic emerging industries, while also highlighting the role of financial capital in driving industrial development. For example, China Insurance Investment Cooperation will establish the China Insurance Investment Fund Phase II in Xiamen and participate in the construction of the cross-Strait integrated development demonstration zone.
