On Oct 15, two 366-meter long container vessels berthed at the Haicang Port Area of Xiamen Port in East China's Fujian Province with a total workload exceeding 6,000 TEUs.

With the coming of peak season for surging international trade, Xiamen Port has launched two new shipping routes this month, while coordinating resources and implementing intelligent measures to ensure safe and efficient dock operations.

The two container vessels are docked respectively at the Songyu Terminal and Haitong Terminal within the Haicang Port Area. Both operate on routes to Europe.

A total of 10 remote-control gantry cranes have been deployed at the two terminals, with the "5G+ Intelligent Remote Control" solution fully covering the yard areas to further enhance operational efficiency.

October is traditionally a peak season for exports. For instance, the two Europe-bound container vessels which docked on Oct 15 were loaded with furniture, apparel, daily necessities, and local specialties such as Fujian honey pomelos. Cargo owners noted that these goods need timely transportation, and they choose Xiamen Port due to its efficient operations and stable schedules.

In order to expand its reach and cater to more cargo distribution, Xiamen Port opened two new shipping routes respectively to the Red Sea and Japan this month.

In the first nine months of 2024, Xiamen Port has introduced multiple routes to North America, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines and other destinations, bringing its total number of shipping routes to over 180, connecting to 149 ports across 49 countries and regions.
