The video game Black Myth: Wukong is taking the world by storm, once again putting the spotlight on the overseas expansion of Chinese games, and playing a crucial role in this trend is none other than Xiamen, where the first-ever insurance policy for an overseas gaming platform in China was launched.

In February, the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce, together with the Xiamen Branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corp, or Sinosure, established a unified insurance platform for game exports.

They launched specialized insurance services for game exports for the first time, providing insurance coverage for the overseas accounts receivable of Mechanist Games, a key national cultural export enterprise in Xiamen, with a maximum coverage amount of $3 million.

This innovation not only provides strong support for the internationalization of the Chinese gaming industry but also helps to promote Chinese culture abroad.

The game export insurance platform provides comprehensive risk protection and financial services for the internationalization of the gaming industry in Xiamen.

As a pilot city for the comprehensive deepening of service trade innovation and development, as well as a demonstration city for China's service outsourcing, Xiamen boasts strong service trade capabilities.

Its gaming industry is booming, with a number of leading cultural service export enterprises emerging. Thirteen gaming companies and three gaming projects have been selected as key national cultural export enterprises and projects for the years 2023-2024.
