Three giant container ships, Hamburg Express, Maersk Essen and MSC Clorinda, docked at the Songyu Operating Area of Xiamen Port on Jan 9, marking the first time in 2025 that Xiamen Port has had three giant ships dock simultaneously.

Among these three international European and American mainline vessels, two are 150,000-ton class ships and one is a 200,000-ton class ship, bringing a total throughput of approximately 21,600 TEUs. On Jan 10, the three ships departed with cargo such as clothing, shoes, hats, LCD screens, decorations, and food products from Fujian province and surrounding areas, bound for Europe and America.

Since New Year's Day, the Songyu Operating Area has handled 79,198 TEUs, including 10 calls from vessels of 150,000 tons and above.

According to statistics, the Songyu Operating Area handled over 3.1 million TEUs in 2024. In the new year, the Songyu Terminal will continue to leverage its advantages as a deep-water port, enhance its reception capacity for large vessels, and continuously improve operational efficiency with the assistance of the intelligent iTOS system.

On the same day, Hairun Terminal and International Container Terminal, also located in the Haicang Port Area of Xiamen Port, each welcomed two large vessels for simultaneous operations.
