Xiamen Golden Dragon Bus Co Ltd and Ethiopian Belayneh Kinde Group (BKG) recently held a handover ceremony for 100 pure electric buses in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, becoming the first large-scale pure electric bus operation project in East Africa. This signals a new phase of China-Ethiopia cooperation in green transportation.

The 100 12-meter pure electric buses delivered are assembled in Ethiopia in KD (knock-down) form, perfectly compatible with Ethiopian electrical grid standards.

Adanech Abebe, mayor of Addis Ababa, noted that the 150 Golden Dragon pure electric light vehicles operational six months ago have collectively reduced carbon emissions by 12,000 metric tons-equivalent to planting 60,000 mature trees.

To ensure the efficient operation of vehicles throughout their lifecycle, Xiamen Golden Dragon Bus has partnered with the BKG Group to establish a technical training school, cultivating Ethiopian talent in new energy.

Xiamen Golden Dragon Bus is committed to deepening cooperation with the BKG Group, expanding more KD projects, and integrating the "Golden Dragon Solution" with Ethiopian demands. This partnership will help propel the "green" wheels of "African manufacturing" into broader markets.

Currently Golden Dragon buses have reached a fleet size of 900 units in Ethiopia's new energy bus market, maintaining its position as the market leader.
