The vessel RIYADH MUKAAB departed from Xiamen Port's Hairun Terminal bound for Eastern Europe on July 29 with a full load of 53 energy storage containers. It is expected to arrive in 30 days.
This shipment of 53 units has set a new benchmark for single-shipment exports of energy storage cabinets at this tonnage level from Xiamen Port, marking a substantial increase in the port's new energy product export capabilities.
Against the backdrop of an accelerating global energy transition, China's smart-manufactured new energy products are leading the industry with their technological superiority and reliable quality.
The shipped energy storage containers were produced by Xiamen-based Hithium Energy Storage Technology Co Ltd, consisting of 51 units with a 40-metric ton capacity and two units with a 35-ton capacity. This export volume far surpassed the previous record of 24 units of 40-ton capacity containers in a single batch set in March.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
