Global supply chain experts descend on Xiamen for 2025 IFPSM World Summit

The 2025 International Federation of Procurement & Supply Management (IFPSM) World Summit, hosted by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), concluded in Xiamen on Sept 16. 

As a landmark annual event in Xiamen's supply chain sector, this year's conference was of even greater significance and prominence than usual, notably with the return of the summit to China after two decades.

The conference brought together over 3,000 participants, including representatives from international organizations, experts, scholars, and corporate executives. It focused on key issues such as cutting-edge trends in supply chains, innovative practices, and international collaboration, exploring ways to promote a more efficient, resilient, and sustainable global supply chain system. 

In addition, several parallel forums were held during the event, including the 2025 International Innovation Logistics Forum and the International Cold Chain and Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Development Forum.

During the opening ceremony, the Xiamen Initiative for Global Supply Chain Development and Stability was released. The initiative emphasizes that all sectors globally should uphold market principles and international rules, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and work together to maintain an open and collaborative international environment. It calls for further efforts to build a secure, stable, and mutually beneficial global supply chain system.

At the conference, the CFLP released the Blue Book: The Future of Global Supply Chains (2025) and 2025 Innovation and Development Report on "AI + Supply Chain".

A supporting event of the summit, the National Supply Chain Innovation Exhibition, covered an area of approximately 15,000 square meters. It featured 45 invited organizations and leading enterprises, including State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, and China Mobile, showcasing their advanced cases and practical applications in supply chain innovation and collaboration. 

The Supply Chain AI Innovation Pavilion, which debuted during the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), was also exhibited again at this event, further extending its influence.

The Xiamen AI + Supply Chain Ecosystem Investment Promotion Matchmaking and Project Roadshow was held on Sept 15 to promote the application of AI in the supply chain field and further expand Xiamen's industry and supply chain cooperation network.

As one of the summit's main events, the 2025 AI Application Competition (Procurement and Supply Chain Track) aimed to deepen the integration of AI technology with procurement and supply chain processes. 

A total of 145 teams from across the country participated in the competition. The event awarded eight gold, 12 silver, and 17 bronze awards. Among the winners, Xiamen C&D Corporation won a silver award, while Xiamen ITG Group and XMXYG received bronze awards.
