Xiamen shines at CIIE
The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, bringing together 155 countries, regions, and international organizations. A total of 4,108 overseas enterprises showcased their cutting-edge products and advanced technologies at the event. This year's expo also featured a notable presence from Xiamen.

Participating enterprises cover advanced fields
Within the theme pavilion of Xiamen ITG Group, five major exhibition zones and eight industrial chains showcase Xiamen's key industries. Over the past eight years, the company has facilitated over$ 10 billion in total transaction value, with its business spanning the globe.
As a regular participant in the CIIE, ITG is just one example of the active involvement of Xiamen-based enterprises.
For this year's expo, a total of 193 organizations from Xiamen have completed registration, with total attendance exceeding 1,000 individuals. These participants cover a wide range of sectors, including trade and circulation, manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services.
Farm produce in spotlight for deals
The Xiamen delegation signed 17 cooperation projects during this CIIE, with international partners including multinational giants such as Louis Dreyfus Company (LCD), ADM, and Cargill. These projects span sectors like grains, dairy products, edible oils, soybeans, and aircraft engines.
Agricultural and related products have emerged as a highlight in this round of planned introductions. Following a strategic cooperation agreement on agricultural products with LDC on Nov 5, Xiamen C&D Inc signed further contracts with six leading global enterprises in agriculture and trade on Nov 6. These agreements cover key commodities including soybeans, corn, and cotton, consistently strengthening the company's capability to allocate supply chain resources on a global scale.
From global sources to richer local tables
Pan Hong, general manager of the Operations Management Department at Xiamen Seashine Group, expressed a sentiment shared by many participating companies from the city: "Our goal is to turn exhibition items into commodities, and purchasing intentions into firm orders, enabling citizens of Xiamen to access more high-quality global products."
At this year's CIIE, Seashine Group focused on upgrading the supply chain for essential consumer goods, leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance community services, and integrating green technologies into commercial development.
Pan noted that the CIIE brings not only premium products but also advanced technologies and service ideas. She expressed the company's intent to apply these insights — gained from new supply chains, scenarios, and services at the event — to enrich the daily lives of Xiamen's citizens.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
