Many companies in Xiamen are tackling the key challenge of making these robots not just functional, but truly capable and practical for real-world use, accelerating their commercialization across areas such as retail, inspections, elderly care, and public safety.

To support this momentum, Xiamen has introduced the "Several Measures to Promote the Development of the Embodied Intelligence Industry". The policy provides targeted support in areas including effective investment, industrial chain collaboration, and training scenario development.

Xiamen-based HeronBot recently began testing its "shopping guide robot" at select Anta Group physical stores. This special "assistant" not only attracts customers but also analyzes their body shape and style preferences to offer real-time personalized outfit recommendations.

In addition, the company has extended its technology to public safety, developing multi-scenario smart policing applications.

Meanwhile, Xiamen Torch Hi-tech Zone company Reconova Technologies has developed the AntOne Baggage Handling Robot, now in pilot testing at airports. In March, the first industry standard for embodied intelligence, co-drafted by Reconova and over 40 organizations, was officially released. It will take effect on June 1.

Real-world scenarios are the most valuable resource for the still-early embodied intelligence robotics industry. Xiamen is building a "training ground" for robots through scenario lists, matchmaking events, open application support, and a platform.

Xiamen's first heterogeneous robot training facility recently broke ground at Tong'an district's Delta Technology Park to tackle the industry's data shortage. The facility will focus on six key functions, including data collection and scenario training, offering high-frequency stress testing for real robots of all types.
