Xiamen's time-honored brands unveil their treasures at CICPE
A special exhibition featuring the "treasures of time-honored brands" kicked off at the 6th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE). As one of the highlights, 37 exhibits from 32 time-honored brands across 16 regions were put on display.
Xiamen had three brands with three "treasure exhibits" selected and was the only city in Fujian province with exhibits at the event. The number of exhibits from Xiamen also ranked among the top nationwide.
The three exhibits included Weiyi's lacquer thread carving, Sea Dyke's tin tea canister from the Republic of China era (1911-49), and Oba's antique hairdressing tools.

Weiyi's lacquer thread carving piece, titled "Divine Martial Grand Marshal", is based on a Tang Dynasty (618-907) military general and blended with modern sculptural forms. The work incorporates traditional elements such as tiger patterns, exuding a sense of Chinese majesty. The piece is located in the most prominent spot in the exhibition area.
The tin tea canister on display is a treasured piece that the brand has passed down for many years. It features an eight-curved surface design, transforming the original square shape into a more restrained and subtle form.
Ouba's antique hairdressing tools set consists of nine pieces, including the first-generation electric hairdryer made in Shanghai, a wooden-handled manual clipper, and razors.

Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
