With just a month to go before the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in the United States, Mexico and Canada, the event economy is already heating up. A shipment of 2,056 pieces of exclusive World Cup sports gear — including jerseys, shorts, protective equipment, and backpacks — was exported via Xiamen Port on May 10, destined for national teams such as Jordan.

This marks the first batch of World Cup sports equipment exported from China for the tournament.

The exporter, Kelme Sports Products Group Co Ltd, has become the jersey sponsor for the national teams of Jordan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, thanks to its strong technological edge.

Using new functional fabrics, the jerseys offer moisture-wicking, quick-drying, and a breathable performance — sweat evaporates instantly upon contact. With a stretchy form-fitting cut and lightweight design under 140 grams, they have been praised by professional players as "breathing battle armor".

Fujian, a key base for China's sports product manufacturing and exports, has steadily boosted its sports industry's strength and global competitiveness through brand building, global expansion, and smart, green transformation.

Since 2020, Fujian's sports product exports including apparel, footwear, sporting goods and equipment have surpassed 150 billion yuan ($22 billion) for six straight years. In the first four months of this year, exports totaled 43.48 billion yuan.
