Xiamen hosted the launch event for the first batch of construction outcomes from the National AI Application Pilot Base, which focuses on resilience and security in international logistics supply chains within the transportation sector, on June 25.
The base — the only one of its kind in China — has drawn on Xiamen's industrial strengths in port shipping, bulk commodity trading, and related sectors since its launch in 2025. It has continuously driven deep integration of AI technologies with real‑world supply chain operations and has built full‑stack AI support capabilities covering computing power, data, models, and application scenarios.
A total of 22 innovations across five categories were presented at the event, including industry datasets, technical platforms, intelligent toolchains, models, and applications.
The pilot base has also partnered with Xiamen Innovation Center for Application Scenarios to establish the "AI + Supply Chain Scenario Innovation Lab", which provides a testing ground for new technologies in real‑world settings.
Separately, it also signed an agreement with the National Data Development Institute to co‑build the "High‑Quality Dataset Joint Lab", aiming to create a national‑level model for data services.
At the signing ceremony, the pilot base signed agreements with 10 firms, including Ganglian Holdings, to jointly work on R&D, scenarios, products, and markets, advancing AI + supply chain innovations from pilot to scale.
Partners such as Shanghai AI Lab, SF Technology, and Huawei took the stage to share their recent work in technology development and real world applications.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
