Xiamen offers TCM health services to improve business environment for key project
The Sino‑Saudi Gulei Ethylene Complex Project, with a total investment of 44.8 billion yuan ($6.59 billion), is the largest single foreign‑invested project ever undertaken in Fujian province. On June 26, the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce organized a unique all‑English traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) promotion and free clinic in Xiamen for the Saudi experts working on the project.
More than 20 Saudi experts attended the event, where a team from Xiamen Hospital of TCM's International Medical Department gave a thorough introduction to TCM culture entirely in English. The team's expertise and clear communication were highly commended by the attendees.

Following the presentation, Dr Lin Weixin offered pulse a pulse diagnosis and one‑on‑one health consultations, tailoring wellness recommendations to each participant's constitution. On‑site acupuncture allowed the foreign attendees to feel the effects directly.
Attendees praised Xiamen as a high‑quality, inclusive, and open city, and noted that the attentive services reflected its strong commitment to supporting foreign‑invested enterprises.
This event used TCM as a bridge to support major foreign‑invested projects in Fujian, promote China‑Saudi cultural and health collaboration, and foster cultural exchange and health cooperation.
Moving forward, the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce will continue addressing the practical needs of foreign enterprises and expatriates by improving healthcare, education, and everyday services, aiming to strengthen Xiamen's appeal as a model city with an international business climate.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
