China's first all-glass panoramic electric sightseeing boat, Lujiang Lounge, departed from Xiamen's Lujiang Wharf on July 16 for its maiden voyage, marking its entry into the city's maritime tourism operations.
The vessel will operate three daily routes: a Kinmen-viewing tour, an afternoon tea cruise, and a nighttime Lujiang cruise. These itineraries seamlessly connect iconic coastal attractions such as Gulangyu Island, Xiamen Bay, and the Island Ring Boulevard. Passengers can admire the sparkling sea by day and the romantic city lights of Xiamen by night.
Passenger Liu Jie said: "The floor-to-ceiling glass windows offer an unobstructed view of the scenery outside, and the cabin is remarkably quiet — the green electric power system makes for a truly enjoyable ride. I'll definitely recommend this to my friends and family back home."

The main deck includes a stage and a multi-purpose hall. The second deck offers private booths, an entertainment lounge, and a viewing deck. The top deck features an open-air photo spot and additional booths. Regular dance and music performances are held in the main hall and on the top deck.
Lujiang Lounge measures approximately 48 meters in length and 15 meters in beam, with a certified passenger capacity of 300. On a single charge, it can travel up to 70 nautical miles, while maintaining zero emissions and ultra-quiet operation.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
