The 2026 Tour de France Femmes came to a close on Aug 9 in Nice, France. Winspace, an independent Xiamen-based brand, took part in the event for the second consecutive year, competing at the highest level of women's road cycling.
Despite this edition being widely regarded as the toughest in the race's history, the Chinese brand delivered a standout performance.
On the racecourse, Winspace's French women's team showcased the strength of Xiamen-made carbon fiber technology to a global audience.
Winspace has been based in Xiamen since 2008. Over the past 18 years, the brand has focused on developing and manufacturing competition-grade carbon fiber road bikes, earning "Xiamen Carbon" a solid reputation in the global cycling community.
In 2024, Winspace established a European women's continental team, becoming the first Chinese mainland brand to compete in the prestigious Paris-Roubaix event. In 2025, the brand made its Tour de France debut and finished in the top 10. In 2026, it returned to the Tour de France Femmes, continuing to raise the profile of Chinese independent brands on the world's biggest cycling stage.
Xiamen has spent recent years helping local exporters evolve from product shippers to brand builders. From major global sporting events to industry trade fairs, the city actively encourages businesses to use these platforms as stages for their brand stories, driving more high-quality Xiamen products into international markets.
Why Xiamen
-
Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
