The Xiamen Downtown Duty-Free Store, a joint venture between China Duty Free Group and Xiamen Iport Group, opened on Sept 5 on the first floor of China City South Zone in the heart of Xiamen's central business district.

The store spans 2,087 square meters and introduces an innovative operational framework that integrates duty-free, tax-refund, and taxed retail, alongside both imported and domestic products, as well as online and offline sales channels.

For duty-free shopping, the store offers a wide selection including internationally renowned perfumes, skincare products, and trendy domestic brands. Travelers planning to depart from Xiamen Airport within 60 days can enjoy the convenience of purchasing items in the city and collecting them at the departure port.

On the taxed retail side, the store features a dedicated section showcasing local specialty gifts, wines, and health-oriented items. This section serves as both a quality destination for domestic shoppers and a window for Chinese brands to reach international visitors.

Overseas travelers spending over 200 yuan ($29.80) on taxable goods can benefit from an instant tax-refund service, with refunds credited in as little as five minutes. The store has also implemented a streamlined "one tax refund application form, one sealed packaging bag, and one refund barcode" service, supporting tax refunds processed at other departure points within 28 days.

The store goes beyond conventional retail by incorporating southern Fujian cultural elements and Nanyang-style architecture, featuring replica ceramic tiles and arcade-style walkways.
