The Xiamen government has attached great importance to the cooperation with State-owned enterprises in recent years, and they have been playing an important role in promoting Xiamen's social and economic development.
Since last year, Xiamen has beefed up efforts to deepen cooperation with State-owned enterprises at a higher and wider level in various fields, such as electronic information, biological medicine, machinery equipment, modern logistics, and ecological environmental protection.
Official data showed that during 2019 to 2020, the city had signed more than 80 projects with State-owned enterprises, attracting a total investment of about 346 billion yuan, all of which have injected strong momentum into the city's high-quality development.

Xiamen is one of the most economically competitive cities in China and was one of the first Special Economic Zones on the Chinese mainland. As a vice-provincial city independently listed on the State development plan, it has provincial-level authority in economic administration and local legislative power. In 2010, the Xiamen SEZ was expanded to cover the entire municipality. Today, Xiamen is a modern and international port city.
